The Federici Tower is a historic building located in the municipality of Esine, owned by the Federici family since around 1200.To enter the historic complex, one passes through a Simona stone portal and arrives in a large quadrangular courtyard. The tower’s walls are made of stone and feature a few asymmetrically placed windows. The tower is shorter than the original, though the reasons for this remain unknown. It currently stands at 18.58 meters. From 2013 to 2015, the tower and the adjacent house that house the B&B underwent a major restoration project that restored the buildings to their former splendor. Since 2015, La Torre has been home to our extended family, consisting of Rachele, Alessandro, and our six children—all of whom are eager and proud to share their space with others.

The property is located in the town of Esine, where you can visit the Church of Santa Maria, famous for its frescoes by the painter Pietro da Cemmo; if you’d like to explore further, you can enjoy lovely walks along the Grigna stream or cycle to Bienno, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. There is also the opportunity for a lovely hike along the mountain trails during the summer season, and the property is close to the most renowned ski resorts in the Camonica Valley.

The tower: to me, it resembles an ancient master inscribing the secrets of time upon the stones, the battlements, and the buttresses, renewing its inspiration with every passing season.

The property is located in a renovated historic tower; everything is very cozy, clean, and recently renovated. The common areas (breakfast room and kitchen) are very well maintained. Comfortable rooms—not huge, but just right for the number of guests—with a bathroom featuring a nice shower and a window (which isn’t always a given). The welcome was excellent, quick, and efficient; we received all the necessary information. Breakfast was excellent, featuring fresh local products, both sweet and savory. I recommend this B&B without reservation.
